What this website collects, what it does not, and where your details go.

The technical statements below are accurate to how this website is built. What is not covered, because only the hotel knows it:
- How guest ID documents collected at check-in are stored and for how long
- Whether CCTV is in use on the property, and where
- How booking records and payment details are retained
- Whether Google Analytics, Ads or any tracking pixel will be added
Get this reviewed by the hotel's legal or accounts advisor before publishing. Delete this box once done.
The short version. This website does not run accounts, does not ask you to log in, and does not store your enquiry on our server. The enquiry form on this site builds a message and opens WhatsApp — nothing is submitted to us until you press send in WhatsApp itself.

The enquiry form
The enquiry form on this site works differently from most contact forms, and it is worth understanding.
- What you type is processed in your own browser. It is not sent to our server and we do not store it.
- When you press send, your browser opens WhatsApp with the message pre-written. Nothing reaches us until you send it yourself in WhatsApp.
- The message includes which page you were on, so we know what you were looking at when you enquired.
- If you close the tab without sending, no information reaches us at all.
Once you do send it, the message is a normal WhatsApp conversation and is handled by WhatsApp under their own terms.
What we collect
Through this website, only what you choose to send us:
- Your name and phone number
- Your travel dates, guest count and room preference
- Anything else you write in the message box
Separately, when you actually stay with us we collect what running a hotel requires — booking details, and a government photo ID for each adult guest as Indian law obliges us to.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and quote a rate
- To hold and manage your booking
- To arrange what you have asked for — porters, a spa slot, a dietary requirement
- To meet legal record-keeping obligations that apply to hotels in India
We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone for marketing.
Third parties
Some parts of this website load from other companies. When they do, your browser contacts those companies directly and they may receive your IP address.

If you follow a link to a travel portal such as MakeMyTrip, Booking.com or TripAdvisor, you are on their website and their privacy policy applies, not ours.
Cookies
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Third-party services embedded on the site, such as the Google Map on our contact page, may set their own.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may stop the embedded map from working, but the rest of the site will be unaffected.
How long we keep things
WhatsApp conversations remain in the chat thread. Booking and guest records are kept for as long as required for our accounts and for the legal obligations that apply to hotels in India.
If you want a conversation or an enquiry removed, ask us and we will do it, except where a record has to be retained by law.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we are not legally required to keep it. Write to westendmatheran@gmail.com and we will respond.
Personal data in India is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, along with other applicable law.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Bookings are made by adults, and guests must be 18 or above to check in.
Copycat websites
This matters more here than on most hotel websites. Other sites use our name, logo and photographs to take bookings that never reach us. Anything you submit to one of those sites is not covered by this policy, because we never receive it and have no control over it.
